Southwest Airlines Adds
New Orlando Flights
Southwest Airlines, which already has a thriving hub in Orlando, is expanding its service into and out of the city.
This summer, the Dallas-based company will add four more routes.
The airline stated that the decision was made due to increased demand for
travel to Orlando. Three of the four new roots were established on July 15.
Albuquerque, Boston, and Long Beach, California are among the three routes that have already begun.
The fourth new route will depart from El Paso, Texas. The route will begin with only Saturday flights.
Southwest's expansion to Orlando is expected to spark further expansion to other airports later this summer.
The airline has also lately enlarged its plane fleet. Southwest also intends to expand its presence at Houston's Hobby Airport.
It will be fascinating to watch where Southwest develops its route network next, as Orlando, the nation's amusement park capital, was a no-brainer.
