Delta Air Lines Adding Flights, Capacity for 2024 College Football National Championship

Delta Air Lines announced, in observance of the 2024 College Football Playoff National Championship, that it would increase capacity and flight times to Houston in order to accommodate the demand of spectators attending the game.

On January 8, at NRG Stadium in Texas, the No. 1 Michigan Wolverines (14-0) will face off against the No. 2 Washington Huskies (14-0).

Delta is starting operations at William P. Hobby Airport in Houston from Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport to accommodate more college football fans heading to the National Championship Game.

The airline's expansion to George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston will also make travel easier for Wolverines fans.

The airline launched a Washington Huskies-themed temporary route between George Bush Intercontinental and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. Flights are limited owing to high demand.

Delta planes with live satellite TVs will broadcast the 2024 National Championship. Airline passengers over the Continental US can see every touchdown on January 8.

Delta announced in December that it would expand its digital identification program to John F. Kennedy, La Guardia, and Los Angeles International airports. The touchless program is expected to speed up airport travel.
